Lex18: Benny Snell Jr. to open football camp to kids impacted by Incarceration
WESTERVILLE, Ohio (LEX 18) - — Former Kentucky star Benny Snell Jr will be hosting a summer football camp for children whose lives have been impacted by incarceration.
Snell Jr. will return home to Westerville, Ohio to host a football camp at his high school alma mater. Dozens of local kids impacted by incarceration will get the opportunity to participate in the "Snell Yeah" Football Camp. Snell will partner with the Justice Action Network.
The event will be held at Westerville Central High School, on Thursday July 18th starting at 2pm. The camp is open to kids ages 6 to 16.
Snell Jr. was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers after finishing his career at Kentucky.
“Benny Snell, Jr. may be headed to the NFL and to Steelers Nation, but his heart will always be in Ohio. We’re excited about this partnership with Justice Action Network, which will give a lot of local kids, who are from families struggling with addiction and incarceration, a chance to take the field with Benny and have a healthy day of football and fun,” said Hooker, the co-founder and President of Flex Work Sports. “We are believers in second chances, and we want all the kids at this camp that are struggling with tough family issues to know that no matter what they are facing, they can rise up and be anything they want to be in life.”
