Judge Rogoff was appointed to the King County Superior Court in 2013 by Governor Jay Inslee and assumed his position on the bench on January 6, 2014. Judge Rogoff graduated from Emory University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies, and from the University of Washington School of Law (1993), where he gained membership in the Order of Barristers for his oral advocacy work. Judge Rogoff began his legal career in the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, focusing primarily on sexual assault and domestic violence cases. He served as vice-chair of the newly formed Domestic Violence Unit and spent several years as a supervisor in the Sexual Assault Unit. In 2006, Judge Rogoff joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office, prosecuting fraud cases, child pornography cases, and cases involving interstate and international criminal enterprise. He continued to serve as an Assistant U.S. Attorney until his appointment to the bench by Governor Inslee. Judge Rogoff is active in the community and the bar. He has been legislatively confirmed as a member of the Washington State Sentencing Guidelines Commission and the Sex Offender Policy Board. He also serves on the Criminal Sentencing Reform Legislative Task Force. For the State Superior Court Judge’s Association, he is the Chair of the Criminal Law and Rules Committee. He loves college basketball, and is a competitive tennis player.
